The rep counter
It isn’t counting my reps
It’s almost always one of these four things:
- Turn side on. Especially for squats: face on, the camera can’t measure how your knee bends.
- Make sure all of you is in frame. Move the phone back until your head and feet both fit on screen.
- Light. Backlit or nearly dark, the camera can’t pick out your outline.
- Go all the way down and all the way up. If you stop halfway, the app doesn’t know you’ve finished the rep.
It’s counting too many reps
This usually happens if there’s someone else in frame, or a mirror reflecting you. Find a plain wall to use as a background.
I can’t do full press-ups
Put your knees on the floor. They count exactly the same.
App blocking
I can’t block any apps
Nitor needs Screen Time permission to be able to block. Go to your iPhone Settings → Screen Time, turn it on, then try again from the app.
The apps are still blocked even though I have minutes
Earned minutes have to be spent: tap Spend on the main screen and choose how many you want to use. Until then they stay in your bank.
They unblocked themselves
When the time you spent runs out, they block again on their own. You don’t need to open Nitor or leave it running in the background: iOS puts the block back by itself.
I want to remove the block altogether
It’s your phone: in the app’s Settings you can remove blocked apps whenever you like. Nitor will never lock you out of your own phone.
Minutes and steps
How many minutes do I earn?
- Press-ups: 2 minutes per press-up (women) · 1 minute per 3 (men).
- Squats: 1 minute per 2.
- Steps: 2 minutes per 1,000 steps, without doing a thing (up to 20 minutes a day).
You can bank up to 60 minutes at a time.
My steps aren’t counting
It needs motion permission: your iPhone Settings → Nitor → Motion & Fitness.
The Daily Reset
What is it?
Nine gentle chi kung and tai chi movements, guided by Nitor, for the days when you don’t fancy doing press-ups. No floor, no kit and no counting reps. You’ll find it inside «Exercise».
How many minutes does it give?
The whole routine takes you about 5 minutes and gives you 10 minutes of social media. So you earn double what you put in.
When Nitor reaches phase 2 you move up to level 2: the movements last twice as long, so it’s around 10 minutes of routine….. and you walk away with 20.
The clock stops halfway through the routine
That’s deliberate: here the camera doesn’t count reps, it only checks that you’re moving. If you stop, the clock stops with you. Move to where it can see you and carry on.
Night blocking
What it does and where it is
You pick a window at night and, inside it, your apps won’t open even if you spend minutes. You switch it on in the app’s Settings. It’s included in Nitor Pro.
I have minutes but it won’t let me open anything
Check whether you’re inside your night blocking window: minutes don’t count there, which is exactly the point of it. You can change the hours or switch it off in Settings.
Nitor Pro and payments
How to cancel the subscription
You cancel from your iPhone, not from the app: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Nitor. You keep access until the period you’ve already paid for runs out.
If you’re inside the 7-day trial, cancel before it ends and you’re charged nothing. Apple warns you two days beforehand.
I’ve paid and I don’t have Pro
In the app’s Settings tap Restore purchases. If it still doesn’t show up, write to us and we’ll look into it.
I want a refund
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. You request them at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If I change phone, do I lose my progress?
Your progress lives only on your iPhone (there are no accounts and no servers). When you change phone, Nitor starts again. Your purchase does come back with Restore purchases.
Privacy
Are you recording me?
No. The camera reads your posture inside the phone itself and discards each image instantly. Nothing is recorded, nothing is saved and nothing is sent anywhere. There are no servers for it to reach.
The details are in the privacy policy.
